Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran has called upon gazetted officers in the State to be cautious against the entry of middlemen in the corridors of power.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 29th foundation day convention of the Kerala Gazetted Officers Union (KGOU) at Town Hall here on Friday.
Mr. Ramachandran said it was the interference of the middlemen that many a time spoiled the image of responsible governments.

Describing Oommen Chandy as an efficient Chief Minister and politician, he alleged that the Opposition was baying for Mr. Chandy’s blood for unfair reasons.
There were deliberate attempts on the part of the Opposition leaders to malign the Chief Minister and try to oust him from power. “It will only result in hampering the continuing development projects in the State and the welfare of the people,” he said.

‘Against mass contact’
M.K. Raghavan, MP, who opened a representatives’ meet in connection with the convention, charged the Left Democratic Front with targeting the people-friendly development programmes of the Oommen Chandy-led government.
“Now, their target is to interrupt the second phase of the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme,” he said.
KGOU State president P.K. Jacob presided over the convention.
District Congress Committee president K.C. Abu delivered the foundation day speech.
Association leaders C. Rajan Pillai and T.R. Ranju were present.
