Condition of houses to be checked

Several government departments have set up call centres to cater to various needs of the flood survivors.

The call centres are functioning under the IT cell of the district administration with the help of Akshaya Kendras and student volunteers.

District Collector U.V. Jose has urged the public to make good use of the various facilities.

For cleaning of the houses, drinking water, power supply, basic repair of electric and electronic equipment, health, inspection of the houses to ensure they are in liveable condition, reissuing lost documents and other services from the Revenue Department can be availed through the call centres by contacting 0495-2378810, 2378820, 2378860 or 2378870.

A group of graduate civil engineers has come forward to check the liveability of houses.

A camp has been set up at Malabar Christian College by students and teachers of the National Institute of Technology for basic check up and repair of electronic equipment.

The Department of Animal Husbandry has also opened a call centre for farmers under the department, which can be contacted at 0495-2762050.
