A Joint Action Council comprising residents and members of a temple committee, on Monday, interrupted the construction work of a main road leading to the upcoming government Cyber Park at Nellikkode alleging that the Cyber Park management was flouting an earlier assurance given to them for the realisation of a temple road in the area.

The action council leaders complained that several short-cut roads leading to the temple premises had beenclosed down after the promise made by the Cyber Park management nearly three years ago.

As per the government-level agreement, the Cyber Park management was bound to complete the temple road utilising a portion of its own land.
Agreement had been made to complete the project along with the construction of the ongoing Cyber Park road.
“However, they went back on the agreement,” a resident said.

According to the action council leaders, a major portion of the Cyber Park road was complete as the assigned contractors were keen on the project.
A. Radhakrishnan, president of the Surbahmanya Swami Temple Committee, on Monday, informed the Cyber Park authorities that the residents would continue their protest in the coming days too.
He alleged that the tendering process for the road was yet to begin.
Final proposal
An officer attached to the Cyber Park said a final proposal for the construction of temple road was yet to be submitted for the consideration of the government.
“Initially, the estimated cost of the project was Rs.20 crore, but, it would not be sufficient to meet the demand now,” he pointed out.
