‘Heels on Wheels’ treasure hunt in city on Sunday

The contest involves teams cracking a set of cryptic codes to find a treasure

The second edition of The Hindu MetroPlus “Heels on Wheels”, an all-women treasure hunt car ride, will be conducted in Kozhikode city on Sunday.

The contest involves the contesting team - a driver and a navigator, both women - cracking a set of cryptic codes to find a treasure. The team will have to solve a riddle and reach a predetermined spot to collect the next clue and proceed further.

The person behind the wheel should have a valid driving licence and both members should be aged 18 or above. The contesting team can drive any make of car.

The event will be flagged off by P.K. Raju, Assistant Commissioner of Police, at 9.30 a.m.

The prize presentation ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Playback singer K.K. Nishad will be the guest of honour.

The winning team will get a cash prize of ₹20,000 and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) fuel coupons worth ₹10,000. The first and second runners-up will receive a cash prize of ₹10,000 and IOC fuel coupons worth ₹10,000 and ₹5,000 and IOC fuel coupons worth ₹10,000 respectively.

All the participating teams will get IOC fuel coupons worth ₹500.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. The reporting time is 8 a.m. Selected participants will also be given an opportunity to showcase their talents and skills after the ride.

Popular Hyundai is the presenting sponsor of the event, Yono by State Bank of India is the banking partner, ARMC IVF is the associate sponsor and Indian Oil Xtra Premium is the powered by partner.
