Haj training classes from June 17

The first phase of Haj training classes for those selected for the Haj pilgrimage this year will be held at 11 centres in the district beginning June 17, Shanavas Kurumboyil, district coordinator for the training, said here on Thursday.

State Haj Committee chairman Kottumala T.M. Bapu Musliar will inaugurate the training, being organised under the aegis of the State Haj Committee, at the Tharbiyathul Islam Hall on Francis Road here, he said.

As many as 2,880 people have been selected from the district for the pilgrimage under the aegis of the committee this year. Besides them, pilgrims going to Haj under various private tour operators may also participate in the training programme. Health cards and Haj guide for the pilgrims will be distributed during the classes, Mr. Kurumboyil said.

Since the training camps will be held at different places at different times, the pilgrims have been requested to attend the camps being held in their respective constituencies. The venue, date, time, and contact numbers for the training are given below:

The training class for pilgrims from Kozhikode South, North, Beypore, and Elathur constituencies will be held at the Tharbiyathul Islam Hall on Francis Road in the city at 9 p.m. on June 17. The contact numbers are 9895 233893 and 9747 719657. The classes for pilgrims from Puthuppadi, Kattippara, Kodencheri, and Thamarassery will be held at Thanveerul Uloom Madrassa at Thamarassery Chunkam at 9 a.m. on June 20 (ph: 9495858962).
