Funds for road works sought

: The Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu Road Action Committee has demanded that the State government sanction the second tranche of Rs.100 crore for the Mananchira- Vellimadukunnu road widening project. A meeting of the committee held here on Thursday decided to submit a memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy during his mass contact programme next week. It also appreciated the efforts of District Collector N. Prasanth to acquire land from the Malaparamba IQRAA Hospital up to ADM Bungalow by utilising the Rs 25 crore released by the government recently.
