All the parties that owe allegiance to the Communist ideology at the national level should come together to oppose the Hindutva ideology of the BJP, T.V. Balan, national council member of the CPI, has said.
He told the media here on Tuesday that even the Communist Party of India (Maoist) should come into the mainstream to be part of the alliance. The four-day Kozhikode district conference of the CPI, to be held at Kuttiyadi from January 18, will discuss the draft political resolution, which will address the issue.
CPI State secretary Kanam Rajendran would inaugurate the conference at 10 a.m. on January 19, said Mr. Balan, who is also the district secretary of the CPI.

Asked about his party’s approach to the Congress, Mr. Balan said any understanding with that party was possible only if they abandon the neo-liberal economic policies and soft Hindutva political line.
There had been no final word on the reported suggestion from the CPI(M) to rope in the Kerala Congress (Mani) in the Left Democratic Front, he added.
Pannyan Raveendran, Central secretariat member of the party, will inaugurate the public rally on January 21. Mr. Balan said there would not be any procession as part of the conference. Ministers E. Chandrasekharan and V.S. Sunil Kumar would be present, he added.
