Calicut varsity’s centralised admission process to begin on Monday

Admission will be open to around 35,000 seats in 287 colleges for degree courses

Calicut University’s centralised process for admissions to degree courses in the 2019-2020 academic year will begin on May 13 afternoon.

Of the around 72,000 seats in 287 colleges in Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts, admission will be open to around 35,000 seats. The other seats are in management, community quota, and sports categories.

Applicants will have to visit the website www.cuonline.ac.in. Mark lists and other details will be made available after submitting the registration number as the university has collected them from the various directorates of higher secondary education. Those who have cleared the CBSE, ICSE Plus Two exams should show their marks in the application.

The admission will be conducted in two continuous phases. In the first phase, candidates need to pay their fees and the application is submitted in the second phase. Information about allotment and admissions will be communicated through SMS or email to the registered mobile number. Therefore, the mobile numbers of Akshaya centres, internet cafes or other agencies should not be submitted.

The candidates need to visit www.uoc.ac.in and the fee can be remitted through the online banking platform of State Bank of India, Akshaya Centres, and Friends Janasevana Kendram. The list of colleges/courses could be made according to the applicants’ priority. The fee structure for self-financing courses will be different from that of courses in government/aided colleges. List of colleges, programmes/courses, and fee structure are available on www.cuonline.ac.in.

Candidates can view the options submitted and if necessary can edit the options. The data can only be edited by the nodal centres functioning in the affiliated colleges, the list of which are published on the website. After the trial allotment, the candidates can rearrange priority of their options already submitted during the registration by “drag and drop” facility. No new course or college can be added at any stage of the allotment process.

There will be three allotments. The candidates receiving allotments for the first options and those satisfied with it can take permanent admissions to the respective colleges by cancelling all higher options. After second allotment, all candidates who have received allotment but not satisfied with their current allotment and willing to be considered for higher option shall take temporary admission. After third allotment, all candidates should take permanent admissions to the colleges allotted but they can retain higher options if they wish to consider them.
