‘Nohayude Pettakam- Splash Agri Expo’ that began at the Marine Grounds in Kozhikode on Wednesday is quite true to its title, with a wide variety of birds and animals amusing and attracting the crowds.
Right from the gate, where a replica of the Noah’s Arc has been set up amidst a horde of animal figures such as lions, tigers, elephants, and deers, and a gigantic gorilla beating a drum, the expo is clearly aimed at children celebrating their summer vacation.
The very first stall features a set of flower arrangements in the shape of an elephant, a peacock, a lion, and Santa Claus. Then there is an agricultural stall featuring produces such as giant tubers by award winning farmer K.V. Raghu from Pathanamthitta.

Around 100 aquaria
A huge hall has around 100 aquaria featuring different varieties of fishes, both marine and fresh water. The giant ornamental fishes are a huge attraction for children, who were seen running from one aquarium to the other. The pets section features different kinds of birds and animals such as doves, hens and cocks, conures, fantails, pheasants, rats, cats, dogs, and squirrels.
Splash also features seeds and seedlings of various plants, fertilisers, pesticides, and agricultural tools besides a number of food and fancy stalls. There is also a food court.

The exhibition, being organised by the Agricultural and Aqua Pets Breeders and Traders Association (AAPBAT), was inaugurated by Mayor A.K. Premajam on Wednesday. AAPBAT president A.V. Antony presided over the function. It will conclude on April 20.
