“Backwaters-2017”, the annual management fest of the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) will draw to a close on Sunday. The final day will have in store interesting competitions such as ‘Stratagem’ and ‘Avatar’, giving a final chance to win B-School fame and ‘Josh Talks’ sharing inspiring stories.
Organisers said the flagship events such as Avatar, the hunt for the Future CEO and ‘Shiksha’, IIM-K’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, drew a large number of participants in the past two days. When Avatar tested the mettle of students on a wide ranging of skills, including domain knowledge in marketing, finance and public speaking, ‘Shiksha’ helped them to explore the future career paths by clearing many doubts, they said.
The ‘Model United Nations’ continued on day two as well by analysing critical global issues by students covering nuclear disarmament and international security. The rehabilitation and integration of refugees into Europe too topped the discussions with insightful analyses.

Student coordinators said the last two-day event had an appreciable mix of activities such as ‘Bizzathlon,’ ‘Treasure Hunt’s Plot,’ and ‘Mad over Marketing’, an event that revealed the creative strategies of modern day marketing. Saturday’s schedule ended with a rib-tickling performance by stand-up comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath.
