Agricultural Technology Management Agency to hold agriculture seminar

Seminars that focus on wide-ranging topics concerning the agriculture sector and the farming community will be held.

The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kottayam, will organise a series of seminars on agriculture at the Regional Agricultural Research Station campus at Kumarakom from March 12 to 15.

According to K.J. Joseph, programme coordinator, KYK Kottayam, Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) Vice Chancellor P. Rajendran will inaugurate the event. Director of Agriculture R. Ajithkumar, KAU Director of Extension P.V. Balachandran and Kottayam Principal Agricultural Officer R. Geethamani will also speak during the inaugural session. Mr. Ajithkumar will also launch an agricultural exhibition on the occasion.

Seminars that focus on wide-ranging topics concerning the agriculture sector and the farming community will be held.

The topics include paddy farming in Kuttanad – problems and opportunities; organic farming methods for sustainable agriculture; necessity of soil testing for agriculture; plantain and vegetable farming; self-sufficiency in milk production; and empowerment of women through self-employment in the sector.
