A ‘parliament’ for green causes, yoga

Awass, a youth organisation, based in Thiruvambady, Kozhikode, organised a week-long Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra.

The parliament was organised to create awareness on environment protection and the role of yoga in eliminating lifestyle diseases.

Kozhikode district panchayat member C.K. Kasim opened the environment awareness programme while Awass chairperson Shilpa Sunder presided over. Koduvally block member Eliyamma George was the guest of honour. Writer and social activist Somanathan Kuttath was the chief resource person.

A yoga training session was organised on Sunday. Thiruvambady grama panchayat president P.T. Augustin opened the session.
