Amar Babu was virtually over the moon on Thursday when the results of the Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical (KEAM-2013) were announced by Minister for Education P.K. Abdu Rabb in Thiruvananthapuram.

Amar, an ardent lover and player of keyboard from Chelappram near Kakkodi, had never imagined that he would be able to grab the second rank in the tight contest and gift his home a rhythmic triumph.

The boy, who completed his SSLC and Plus Two from two government schools in the city, attended the examination with the confidence he gained through over 50 model tests at RAYS Entrance Coaching Centre, Kozhikode.
Systematic learning by investing at least eight hours a day and the inspirational talks by those who had already cleared the examinations fuelled the confidence of Amar to come up with a surprising result.

Library helped
“The library at my training institute proved to be a big help for the preparations. Also, my teachers and the former students from my training institute encouraged me a lot during the training period,” said Amar Babu.
The habit of attending maximum model tests bolstered his confidence to face the examinations better.
Amar, who secured A Plus grade for nine subjects in the SSLC examinations, maintained the performance in Plus Two examinations too by scoring 96 per cent mark. “My ambition is to secure admission for MBBS at Kozhikode Medical College and serve here as a doctor,” the boy said.
An inspiration
Parents were also instrumental for the triumph of the boy in the Kerala’s prestigious entrance examinations. “My father Babu and mother Rajitha never made any compulsions, but, encouraged me in their own way to study well. My elder sister Aswini also showed the same spirit,” he added.
