Kozhikode: The 57th edition of the Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Fest will draw to a close at JDT Islam Higher Secondary School on Sunday. Former Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran, MP, will inaugurate the valedictory function.
The overall champions of the fest will receive the trophy from M.I. Shanawaz, MP, at the function. K. Dasan, MLA, will distribute the special financial aid of the Education Department to students who put up outstanding performance during the five-day event. M.K. Muneer, MLA, will plant ‘Kala Vriksham’, a jackfruit sapling on the JDT campus on the occasion.
Meanwhile, competitions in only 14 items are left for the final day. Mimicry by boys and girls of high school and higher secondary categories is expected to spice up Sunday’s programmes. ‘Poorakkali’, ‘Koodiyattam’, elocution, and group songs are among the major events scheduled for the final day.

With 308 points, Kozhikode city sub district is leading the competitions in the higher secondary school category. Balusssery sub district is close behind with 287 points. Chevayur and Kozhikode city are in a tight fight to win the title in the high school segment. So far, the Chevayur team has secured 261 points, taking the lead position. Kozhikode city has secured 258 points.
In the upper primary segment too, Chevayur has managed to secure the lead position with 110 points. Balussery is in the second position with 101 points.
