6,000 apply for ‘mass contact’

March 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Kozhikode:

Today is the last date for submitting complaints at Kozhikode Akshaya centres

A total of 6,000 applications have been received so far for the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme in the district. The complaints have been received through various Akshaya centres since March 18 when the registration drive began.

Officials said that the Akshaya centres entrusted with the processing of citizens’ complaints were getting good response and the time for filing complaints would end on Saturday.

Of the complaints received, around 4,500 had been forwarded to various departments concerned. The remaining ones would be categorised shortly, they added.

Revenue officials said the settlement of complaints would be primarily the responsibility of village or panchayat-level authorities. Only those complaints which were not settled by the district-level authorities would be taken up for the consideration of the Chief Minister.
