PF official: exemptedestablishments toohave to file returns

Any establishment, whether having relaxation or exemption from the provisions of Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, is required to file the e-return and it is mandatory, Regional PF Commissioner R.K. Sahoo said in a statement here.

The establishments have to mandatorily file e-Returns from April 1, 2014 or from the date of grant of exemption/ relaxation, whichever is later. All existing exempted/relaxed establishments falling within the jurisdiction of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts have to compulsorily file the e-returns as on March 31 and thereafter at regular monthly intervals, he said.

In another statement, the Regional PF Commissioner urged all the employers with more than 101 ECR members to register digital signature certificates (DSC) Class 2 and above with the EPFO. The signatures of employer(s) and or authorised signatory (ies) have to be registered by April 30 for establishments having more than 500 ECR members and the last date for establishments having 101-500 ECR members is June 30.
