With elections fast approaching, it is the turn of common man to get surprised by novel ways of parties to catch his attention to put the party message across.
Morning walkers on the Beach Road on Monday were in for such a surprise when BJP Andhra Pradesh president K. Haribabu and party leaders got into an informal interaction mode with them in ‘Meet BJP President’ programme. Chatting up with a good number of people on the Modi factor and Seemandhra development, the BJP leaders stayed for more than two hours at the stall put up near YMCA.
They later walked on either side of the stall meeting people and speaking to them about the party.

Among those Mr. Haribabu met were students, middle-aged people, doctors and senior citizens, mostly from elite sections. Some of them were from the northern parts of the country, Punjab and one student was from Nepal.
The single point campaign was that to solve the problems the country was facing, it was important to elect Mr. Modi as Prime Minister, he said describing the response as beautiful.
“All the presidents of major political parties are from Rayalaseema and those of the other parties live in Hyderabad. The idea of my going to the Beach Road is to give people a feel that the State president of a national party is one among them walking on the same roads,” Mr. Haribabu told

He was accompanied by party State vice-president B. Ranga Mohana Rao and city president P.V. Narayana Rao.
Missed callAs a part of the ‘Modi for PM campaign’, they asked a number of people to give a missed call to a phone number assigned after which they got a message from party national president Rajnath Singh, Mr. Ranga Mohana Rao said.
The addresses, phone numbers and email ids were also collected from them.
Copies of the book brought out by the party’s Seemandhra Movement Committee and containing the efforts of BJP and its MP M. Venkaiah Naidu to safeguard the interests of the region during the bifurcation were distributed.
