Former India International and Padmashri V.V.S. Laxman on Tuesday asked young cricketers of the Central Zone academy to emulate former India stumper and Andhra Cricket Association director M.S.K. Prasad, who, with his hard work made it to the Team India as wicket-keeper.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the academy at ACA stadium at Mangalagiri, he said MSK toiled hard at Hyderabad to get quality training. “He used to walk three to four kilometres with his kit bag on his shoulders. He came to Hyderabad as there were no proper facilities at his home town those days. He made it to the Indian team with his grit and dedication. Now as an administrator, he has brought the entire facilities under at one place to help train you better,” Mr. Laxman added.

Mr. Laxman appreciated the efforts of ACA in sprucing up three academies in three zones and exhorted the players to make use of facilities.
