He stands tall – not just in height but in stature as well. For, India fast bowler Ishant Sharma happens to be the senior most international player from India figuring in the Sunrisers 2013 IPL campaign.

Sharing a few thoughts with fast bowling great of yesteryears from Pakistan Waqar Younis, in the nets, Ishant gave enough hints that he is ready for the big IPL season ahead.

“Well, in any format of the game, I always believe that length ball is the wicket-taking delivery for me,” says the fast bowler after a training session at the Gymkhana Ground. “Definitely, I am looking forward to sharing the new ball attack with Dale Steyn. He is one of those great fast bowlers who make even a small total very challenging for he hates to give away easy runs. You tend to pick up a few new things in the art of bowling when you play along with such players,” Ishant pointed out.

“You all know what sort of legend Waqar

paaji is. What is important is you don’t tamper with the bowling aspects of someone who has played international cricket. That’s what exactly he avoids. He keeps giving me tips which help me become a better bowler with some minor changes only,” Ishant said.

“My confidence level is really high after a very satisfying Test series against Australia. Getting wickets on flat tracks really lifts your morale. And, I am eagerly looking to keep improving in the long season ahead,” the India speedster says. “With injury affecting my stint in IPL last time, I am really happy that I am in the right frame of mind too,” he added.

“We have players who are capable of changing the course of the game. I hope to have a more satisfying IPL edition this time around,” said Ishant before signing off to join his teammates.
