Family blames Mumbai police for “sheer apathy”

Esther Anuhya

A day after the body of a 23-year-old techie was found here, the doctor who examined her body said injuries found on her body and private parts were caused by a blunt object.

Medical reports suggested that the injuries on Esther Anuhya were caused by a blunt object, T.P. Lahane, Dean of the government-run J.J. Hospital said.

When asked if the report indicated any sort of sexual assault, the doctor said, “The cause of death and sexual assault, if there was any, can be ascertained only through chemical analysis which is being done by forensic experts.”

The TCS employee, who had boarded the Vishakapatnam-LTT Express train from Vijayawada on January 4 for Mumbai, had gone missing, until her body was discovered in suburban Kanjurmarg. Her family had blamed the Mumbai police for its “sheer apathy” towards the case. - PTI
