Everest heroes visit Addagutta slum

M. Poorna and S. Anand Kumar, the two young mountaineers from Telangana who scaled Mt. Everest earlier this year, interacted with residents of Addagutta slum on Sunday.

The duo spoke about their achievements and urged youngsters from the slum to think big in order to achieve big. Ms. Poorna asked the girls not to agree to payment of dowries. The duo spoke at the slum as part of activities of Swaeroes (the alumni association of Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions) in the slum.

M. Srihari, president of the Association for Greater Hyderabad said they would take up promotion of English education and develop reading room facilities to draw youngsters to education.
