Vignana Samiti of Khairatabad, organised Mallela Tejasvi's violin solo at its auditorium in Anandnagar colony recently. . He was in the company of Kapa Srinivasa Rao on mridangam and B. Jardan on ghatam. He opened with Natakuranji varnam that he played in two speeds, warming up well for the event. It was followed by Vathapi in Hamsadhwani, an appropriate number and his breezy swarakalpana set the tone and tenor for the concert. Bahudari's delineation came up next with soft play and salient prayogas mirroring the raga bhava to a good measure. He played the popular Brova Bharama' of Thyagaraja with vocalist touch and eased into swarakalpana with apt moves to a fine finish, displaying his fertile imagination.

He took up another raga Charukesi for Adamodigalada' and evolved it well. The swarakalpana in the kriti part was evenly kept, keeping an eye on elevating beautiful phrases. Tejasvi chose Mohana as his main raga effort and its thematic expansion was a beauty in itself, creating a majestic picture. Its development was packed with tidy forays into beautiful phrases providing good moments.

Nanupalimpa' in this, another popular number of Thyagaraja, was a meaningful expression of

sahitya that was easily followed by the audience because of the popularity of the

kriti , and the percussionists lending apt and mellow touch on occasions.

The skilful expansion of

kalpanaswaras in two speeds, especially in breezy spells, was a testimony to Tejasvi's sadhana , with percussionists sharing each of the avruthas . raga His concert was later rounded off with a western tune modelled after Sankarabharanam. Both the percussionists lent uniformly good support.
