The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has asked its members to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the 55 Assembly segments of Delhi where the Left does not have candidates for Saturday's Assembly elections.

This was announced in Delhi on Wednesday by CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat.

He said a similar call had been given during the December 2013 Assembly elections as part of the CPI(M)'s established position to fight communalism.
