“I am confident about the people of Delhi, their judgement. Whoever they vote for, I will request them to vote for the truth”

With barely 16 hours left for voting in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal was in a relaxed mood as he spoke to journalists in the party office on Friday.

What are your thoughts just before the crucial voting day in Delhi? “I am quite relaxed and I am confident about the people of Delhi, their judgement. Whoever they vote for, I will request them to vote for the truth.”

Although several pre-poll surveys have given the AAP an edge, what is your assessment? “I think the people of Delhi have already made up their mind that they want to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party and they want to give them a full majority this time.”

Mr. Kejriwal said the party was not making any special preparations for the poll on Saturday. “All our volunteers are prepared and they are on the job.”

On its part, the BJP continued to term the AAP “anarchists” and said it was a contest between a party representing “governance” and “anarchy”.

The BJP and the AAP are locked in a fierce battle in Delhi for the 70 Assembly seats. In December 2013, BJP had won 32 seats in alliance with the Akali Dal and AAP had won 28 seats. The Congress had won eight and two seats went to independents.

This time round, both the AAP and the BJP are claiming to win enough seats tom form the government.
