Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shot off a series of tweets ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the State on Sunday, saying Mr. Modi is “unmatched in theatrics and rhetoric”.

“Modi ji is always unmatched in theatrics, rhetoric and using unsubstantiated facts. Now tactical silence is his new weapon of choice,” tweeted Mr. Kumar. He questioned Mr. Modi for his silence on promises of bringing back black money from abroad, increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers, employment for youth and special status for Bihar.

“No words on promises he made and then conveniently forgot — black money, farmer MSP, youth employment, special status for Bihar — list goes on,” Mr. Kumar tweeted again.

Mr. Kumar, the face of the grand alliance against the BJP-led NDA, took on Mr. Modi for his prolonged silence on the killing of two Dalit siblings in Haryana and the Dadri lynching and the increasing prices of pulses.
