The film ‘Savitri’ exhibited in the Wellington Theatre is one of the most attractive films ever exhibited in Madras. Any one witnessing the Exhibition is sure to be struck with the fineness of action of the characters that pass on the screen. The film covers the whole story and the scene in which ‘Savitri’ begs of Yama Dharma Raja not to take away the life of her husband Satyavan, and the appealing way by which she persuades the Lord of Death to grant her prayer are admirably shown and special attention is shown to the accuracy of dramatic details and grandeur of the scenery. The large audience seen there every day this week is a certain indication that the Exhibition of the puranic story of ‘Savitri and Satyavan’ has brought great credit to the Proprietors of the Wellington Cinema. To-day is the last day of the Exhibition. The Madras public, it is hoped, utilise the opportunity to their best advantage.
