After a satisfying 2012, Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic is confident of winning his first ATP Chennai Open title next month thanks to the overall improvements in his game during the previous season.
Focussing on the change in his mental approach, the World number nine said, “I have improved my game in all aspects but the biggest change came in my mindset and how I was able to keep up with the constant pressure. I feel it (is) mainly the attitude on court.”
The 28-year-old lost an epic final to Canada’s Milos Raonic in Chennai last year but bounced back later in the day to win the doubles title with Leander Paes.

Looking forward to his sixth visit to the city, Tipsarevic added, “You have been seeing a lot of me in the last few years and I really want to win the whole thing this year. The Indian crowd is great and the atmosphere during the evening matches is electric there.”
The Serb is also happy at the prospect of seeing Somedev Devvarman, whom he describes as a good friend, in action at the SDAT-Nungambakkam Tennis Stadium.
“He has been unlucky with his injury lately, but I am sure he will be back. Chennai is a great place to start the comeback,” opined Tipsarevic.
