Riya Bhatia in final

Colombo: Top seed Riya Bhatia won back to back matches to make the final of the $15,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament here on Sunday.

In the final, Riya was serving on 6-5 against second seed Josephine Boualem of France, when rain interrupted play.

$15,000 ITF women, Colombo: Singles, semifinals: Riya Bhatia bt Alice Gilian (GBR) 6-4, 6-2; Quarterfinals: Riya bt Rushri Wijesundera (USA) 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Doubles, semifinals: Isabelle Boulais (Can) & M. Yexin (Chn) bt Ramya Natarajan & Rishika Sunkara 6-3, 6-4.
