Ramkumar bows out

Fifth seed Ramkumar Ramanathan was beaten 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 by Alexandre Muller of Germany in the semifinals of the €46,600 Challenger tennis tournament here on Saturday.

In the ITF men’s Futures in Nanchang, China, Anirudh Chandrasekar and Luca Castelnuovo of Switzerland lived up to the No.1 seeding and won the title beating the chinese duo of Ruixuan Wang and Bingyu Yu 10-8 in the super tie-break.

It was the second doubles title in the professional circuit for Anirudh, who had won his earlier title with Niki Poonacha, earlier this season.

Doubles (quarterfinals): Marek Gengel (Cze) & Ramkumar bt Karol Drzewiecki & Szymon Walkow (Pol) 6-4, 3-6, [10-3].
