The prize winners in the SSN tennis open with Ms. Kala Vijayakumar, president, SSN Institutions, on Friday. (L to R): Prithvi, Irfan Hussain, Dr. Salivahanan (Principal) and Vishwajit.

SRM University’s Prithvi unseated defending champion Irfan Hussain of SSN College of Engineering to win the men’s singles title in the SSN Open tennis championship which concluded at the SSN campus on Friday. It may be noted that Prithvi had won two gold medals last week in the National Games for the deaf at Aurangabad.

Interestingly, Prithvi achieved a double with Rithwik.

The title contest — which Prithvi won 6-4, 7-5 — was an intense battle featuring several rallies and twists. Leading 5-4 in the first set, Prithvi broke in the 10th game to take the set 6-4.
