ACROBATIC: Jurgen Melzer twists to hit a return against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the Kooyong Classic on Wednesday.

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova set up a semifinal clash with defending champion Li Na after an emphatic 6-0, 6-4 win over Daniela Hantuchova at the Sydney International on Wednesday.

Earlier French Open champion and world No. 5 Li beat Czech Lucie Safarova 6-2, 7-6(3).

Meanwhile in Melbourne, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga paid the price for a flight halfway round the world on Wednesday as he lost his Kooyong Classic opener 6-4, 6-3 to Austria's Jurgen Melzer.
