Prerna Bhambri in quarterfinals

Qualifier Prerna Bhambri beat seventh seed Kyoka Okamura of Japan 6-1, 1-6, 10-5 in the pre-quarterfinals of the $15,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Tin Hau, Hong Kong, on Thursday.

In the quarterfinals, Prerna will face Ji-Hee Choi of Korea who beat third seed Harriet Dart of Britain.

However, Rishika Sunkara failed to drive home the advantage after a 3-0 lead in the third set, as she lost the first round to Pei-Chi Lee of Chinese Taipei in the third set tie-break.
