Djokovic on top in ATP rankings

Novak Djokovic retained the top spot in the men’s tennis rankings issued on Monday by the ATP, a day after the Serb won the Monte Carlo Masters.

Djokovic, who beat Rafael Nadal 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) to win the trophy for the first time, has 12,900 points, well ahead of Roger Federer of Switzerland who moved back to second ahead of Britain’s Andy Murray.

Nadal remained in the fifth place behind fellow Spaniard David Ferrer.
