Gasquet replaces Tsonga in Davis Cup final

Richard Gasquet will play the first reverse singles match of the Davis Cup final against Roger Federer on Sunday as France looks to overturn a 2-1 deficit against Switzerland.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was initially set to face the 17-time Grand Slam champion but is sidelined with an elbow injury that already ruled him out of the doubles rubber, according to the French tennis federation.

Switzerland took a 2-1 lead on Saturday after Federer and Stan Wawrinka beat Gasquet and Julien Benneteau in straight sets.

The 33-year-old Federer can secure the decisive point against Gasquet and clinch the last big prize in tennis missing from his collection. If Gasquet wins, Wawrinka and Gael Monfils will decide the final.

Federer has a 12-2 record against Gasquet.
