Doubles ace player Mahesh Bhupathi expressed happiness over India’s victory against South Korea in the Davis Cup group I Asia/Oceania second round tie at Busan.

“It’s very exciting. We have not beaten South Korea in South Korea before. I have been part of many teams that has been there and have come disappointed because it is so hard to beat those guys there. I think Somdev and the boys did amazingly well,” said Bhupathi.

Winner of a number of Grand Slams doubles titles, Bhupathi said any opponent was difficult in a Davis Cup rubber and so would be the case with Serbia.

“Once teams come to India, I feel anything is possible. So we are looking to play a home tie.”

Zeeshan’s hint

Responding to coach Zeeshan Ali’s hint that India could field a specialist doubles team, Bhupathi said: “I am always available. I know the captain (Anand Amritraj) has talked about the same just like the coach has.

“I think it is important because doubles will be pivotal in that match, so let’s see how things pan out.”
