Austrian Koellerer banned for life for match-fixing

Austrian player Daniel Koellerer has been banned for life by a tennis anti-corruption unit for attempting to fix matches.

Koellerer, who was ranked No. 55 in 2009, was found guilty of three violations of the Uniform Tennis Anti-Corruption Program between October 2009 and July 2010.

He was also fined $100,000 following an investigation by the Tennis Integrity Unit, whose findings were considered at an independent anti-corruption hearing in London on April 27-28.

A statement by the TIU on Tuesday didn’t specify, which matches Koellerer was found to have manipulated and said no details of the hearing or decision will be made public.
