The fine run of lucky loser Adil Kalyanpur came to an end, as he was beaten 6-1, 6-4 by sixth seed Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland in the semifinals of the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament in Santa Margarida de Montbui, Spain, on Saturday.
Against an opponent who was serving well, Adil converted the only breakpoint he forced, and dropped serve four times while facing 11 breakpoints.
The 18-year-old Adil, who trains at the Rafael Nadal Academy, and had a solitary ATP point for a rank of tied 1851, has managed to accumulate six points from the tournament, after having lost the third and final qualifying round.
