Snehadevi reigns

It was an Indian celebration in the Mary Pierce Indian Ocean Series $10,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament here as Snehadevi Reddy won the singles title, while Kyra Shroff and Dhruthi Venugopal captured the doubles crown, on Sunday. While second seeds Kyra and Dhruthi outplayed top seeds Chayenne Ewijk and Rosale van der Hoek of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-1 in the doubles final, top seed Snehadevi scored a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory over second seed Valeria Bhunu of Zimbabwe for the second singles title of her professional career.

The results: Snehadevi Reddy bt Valeria Bhunu (Zim) 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Doubles: Kyra Shroff & Dhruthi Venugopal bt Chayenne Ewijk & Rosale Van Der Hoek (Ned) 6-1, 6-1.
