Indian junior National champion Prarthana Thombare put it across qualifier Chia Hsien Yang in a pre-quarterfinal match of the $10,000 ITF Bidar Open tennis tournament at the Police Training School courts here on Wednesday.

Prarthana established control early in the match, and comfortably won the battle between the two qualifiers.

Prarthana will be joined in the quarterfinals by fifth seed Ankita Raina, who overcame a fighting Spurthi Shivalingaiah. In a match interrupted a few times by rain, Ankita displayed clean forehands and solid groundstrokes to defeat the Karnataka teenager in three sets.
