Nadal heads ATP rankings

Rafael Nadal topped the latest edition of the men’s tennis rankings issued on Monday although the Spaniard is still looking for top form one week ahead of the US Open.

Nadal has 10,745 points in the ATP list after a quarterfinal exit at the Cincinnati Masters last week. Swiss rival Roger Federer, who won that tournament for a fourth time on Sunday, has 7,215 points and Serb Novak Djokovic is third with 6,665 points.

Former number one Andy Roddick returned into the top 10, up from 13 to nine following a semifinal showing in Cincinnati.
