Madras races from Dec. 3

The delayed Madras racing season will commence on Monday (Dec. 3). The 45-day season will go on till April 14, 2013.

Eighteen trainers and 35 jockeys will be seen in action. Apart from the local runners, outstation horses aged six years and below only will be eligible to participate starting with races for horses rated 20 to 45 and above.

The following are the sponsored races: Sohna Stud Farm South India 1000 Guineas, Hazara Stud Farm & Vikram Green Lands South India 2000 Guineas, Kr. Rajendra Singh Memorial Cup, Poonawalla Estates Stud & Agricultural South India Oaks, South India Derby Stakes, S.Rangarajan Memorial Gold Cup, Dashmesh Stud Farm Madras Gold Vase and Chettinad Cement South India St. Leger.

Racing dates: Dec. 3, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20, 24, 27, 29. Jan. 2013: 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 13, 17, 18, 24, 25, 30, 31. Feb. 8, 13, 14, 18, 21, 22, 25, 28. March 7, 8, 12, 14, 17, 19, 22, 26, 27, 31. April 1, 6, 7, 13 and 14.
