G. Sathiyan.

G. Sathiyan: It has been a dream-come-true year for Sathiyan. The 25-year-old reached his career high World ranking of 49 in January. Under the watchful eyes of former National champion S. Raman, Sathiyan’s game has improved by leaps and bounds. A medal in men’s singles would not be too much to ask for.

Sharath Kamal: Every time critics have written him off, he has risen like a phoenix. His eighth National championship singles title was one such example.

His recent performance in the Qatar Open, where he dispatched of World No.7 Koki Niwa, was another. The 35-year-old, playing, perhaps, in his last CWG, can add to his collection of six medals. A gold medal each in the team and singles will be an icing on the cake.

Joshna Chinappa-Dipika Pallikal: The Indian pair won a historic gold in Glasgow four years ago, is itching for an encore.

Known to be good friends off-court and fierce rivals on-court, the pair has the game to pull off another gold, for sure.
