Two junior boxers suspended

Two boxers who participated in the National School Games last December, Ashwani Kumar and Manoj Kumar, were on Monday suspended for three months for use of marijuana.

The boxers had tested positive for THC, a metabolite of marijuana, in tests done after they won gold medals in the games.

They claimed that they had smoked cigarettes along with a few friends in celebration of their victories.

The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) which announced the verdict on Monday stated that the disciplinary panel would give detailed decisions later.
