Ethiopian Dereje Debel Tulu won the Dusseldorf marathon on Sunday in a course record 2 hours 7 minutes 48 seconds.
Tulu finished ahead of the Kenyan pair Pius Oudoro (2:08:17) and Duncan Koech (2:09:10).
The women’s race also saw an Ethiopian success, with Melkam Gizaw crossing the line in 2:26:24.

Kenyan Rebecca Chesire was almost a minute-and-a-half back in 2:27:52, with Poland’s Agnieszka Ciolek-Mierzejewski (2:33:36) third.
