MUMBAI: The Bijoy Gopal Nandi Memorial Trust will invite leading international tennis and football coaches for clinics in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkatta.

Names include Gustavo Ordonez (former tennis player, Barcelona), Jordi Munoz Abreo (Venezuelan Davis Cupper), Tati Bua (Federation Cup player from Argentina), Noel Urena Molina (European League player and fitness coach), and Sebastian Hererra (former FC Barcelona and Espanyol player).

Archana Burman, general secretary, BGNM Trust, said that the objective behind this endeavour was to provide youngsters with an opportunity to learn the best techniques of tennis without travelling abroad to train.

In addition, 10 best players chosen by a team of coaches can train at the Club Sports Tennis Cunit, Barcelona for a month or more with a 50% scholarship.

She said: “This would be a great opportunity to train with international circuit players and former ATP players who can guide them and share their valuable experience on a one-to-one basis. The coaches would provide individual assessment of every player.”

The Mumbai clinic will be at the Practennis centre in Andheri from September 11 to 16. Clinics in Kolkata and Delhi will be held from Sept. 4 to 9 and 18 to 22 respectively.
