RANCHI: Telugu Titans showed real grit, picking up four crucial points in the final five minutes while giving away nothing, to force a 26-26 tie with Bengaluru Bulls in a Zone ‘B’ match of the ProKabaddi League (PKL) at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

Bulls did well in the first half with raider Rohit Kumar bringing home most of the points with a series of successful raids. Bulls got the Titans “all out” once in the opening session and preserved that advantage to lead 15-12 at half-time.

Rahul Chaudhari was not in his incisive best in the opening half but created a personal milestone of being the first raider to cross 600 raid points in his PKL career.

Showing better strategic sense Chaudhari did well after the break as he focused on picking up more bonus points to keep the team in the hunt.

Bulls ran up a 22-16 lead midway through the second half but failed to preserve it as Titans made a fine comeback, thanks to good work by tackler Vishal Bharadwaj in the defence.

Bharadwaj made three super tackles for Titans to help his team narrow the lead and eventually force the tie.

Just as Bulls, leading 26-22, tried to kill time in the final five minutes, Titans showed better application and picked up couple of raid and tackle points while conceding nothing to make it a memorable comeback in the end.

The result: Telugu Titans 26 (Rahul Chaudhari 8, Vishal Bharadwaj 7) drew with Bengaluru Bulls 26 (Rohit Kumar 8, Ajay Kumar 5).
