SRM University emerges champion

Chennai-based SRM University won the South Zone inter-university volleyball men’s tournament by winning all three league fixtures here on Sunday.

SRM defeated Calicut 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 and later trounced Mahatma Gandhi (Kottayam) 25-27, 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 and Satyabhama 25-10, 25-21, 25-18.

Satyabhama took the second spot while MGU took the third place.

Four teams — SRM, Calicut, Satyabhama and MG (Kottayam) qualified from South Zone for the all India inter-university tournament to be held at Kurukshetra University in the second week of November.
