The traditional ceremony for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi will take place on September 29 in Olympia, including the lighting of the Olympic torch, the Greek Olympic Committee said on Tuesday.
The Olympic torch will then be handed over to the Sochi organisers on October 5 at the old Panathinaikon Stadium in Athens — the site of the 1896 Summer Olympics.
