India’s star paddler A. Sharath Kamal has realised his dream of reaching the top 30 in the world. In the latest list released by the International Table Tennis Federation, the 36-year-old is ranked 30, a jump of one spot from his current ranking.
“The wait is finally over.. Entered the Top #30 of the world rankings for the first time in my career. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents, coaches and [younger] brother but what tops it all is the unimaginable support from my wife. And special thanks to Table Tennis Federation of India, Quantum Leap Performance as well. All of them stood by me at a time when things around me were falling apart. Their backing and unending support made this feat possible,” tweeted Sharath.
G. Sathiyan, too, has reached a career-best ranking of 31.
