India’s leading shuttler Saina Nehwal climbed a place to be ranked No. 5 in women’s singles in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on Thursday.

Back-to-back quarterfinal appearances at Denmark and French Open this month, where she lost to Chinese Shixian Wang both times, have helped her re-enter the top 5 rankings. Meanwhile, compatriot P.V. Sindhu retained her No.10 position.

A return back to form has seen men’s singles shuttler Parupalli Kashyap climb back into the top 20 at No.17. A semi-final show in Denmark followed by a last eight appearance in France elevated Kashyap four places.

There is no Indian representation in the top-25 of men’s and mixed doubles.
